Prof Omotayo Arotiba University of Johannesburg, Keynote speaker: KL4 | Omotayo Arotiba received his PhD in 2009 from the University of the Western Cape (UWC), South Africa. He carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Cape Town and the University of Johannesburg, before joining the University of Johannesburg, in 2011, where he is currently a Professor and the Director of the Centre for Nanomaterials Science Research. Prof Arotiba is the current Chairman of the Electrochemistry Division (ElectrochemSA) of the South African Chemical Institute (SACI). He is a C1 rated researcher by the National Research Foundation of South Africa. His research interest is on the application of electrochemistry to solving challenges in environmental, water, materials and biomedical fields. His research focus is on the development of photo-electrochemical water treatment technologies; electrochemical sensors & biosensors; materials electrochemistry and nano-electrochemistry. Prof Arotiba has published about 121 papers with h index of 31 and over 3859 citations. Today, he has Graduated 12 and 19 MSc students. He is an Editorial Board Member of Frontiers in Sensor (Associate Editor), Current NanoScience and Materials Focus Journal. Prof Omatoyo has been a Guest Editor for Electrocatalysis (2018) and Electroanalysis (2020) and currently for Catalysis (2021). He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), International Society of Electrochemistry and a Fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria.
